A Delicate Operation...

We're back! Although the climate here in England is necessitating some slightly extreme instrument maintenance. Here Dylan is correcting the fit of the hurdy gurdy keys to prevent them from sticking. Hopefully the fiddly work will be worth it and Minerva's Tower will be able to take to the packed Christmas-time streets of York for some festive busking once the university semester has finished.

Long Overdue Update

First of all, thank you to everyone who came to see us at the Perth Medieval Fayre, and extra thanks to all of you who bought Diluculum! We made Diluculum for a variety of reasons, chief among them being that we wanted to share our love of music with people who hadn’t seen us live. I dare say this was achieved, not by us, but by the lovely people who bought a copy for themselves and then came back for more to send to far-flung relatives and friends – that is how the fire spreads. Thank you! We have another 20 or so copies available if you can think of anyone who might like to hear us.

Studio Photos

Something different is on the way. Minerva's Tower spent a couple of days at the WAAPA studios in Perth with Joel Bickford in late November, and the resulting recordings are starting to come together!
We may soon have to change the answer to the question we get asked only slightly less often than "what is that instrument?"

Zig Zag Festival!

It's tomorrow! Stirk Park in Kalamunda is going to be packed with musicians, crafters, stalls and wonderful local people, and we'll be amongst it. Come up the hill and see us play the main stage at 2pm, and lend our music to the Souleiado French Dance Group in their performances at (around) midday and at 3:45pm.
I look forward to seeing you there :)

We Talked Like Pirates...

Last Thursday was International Talk Like A Pirate Day, and to celebrate the WAMA crew ran a free public Pirate event on the Fremantle Esplanade on Sunday the 22nd. The weather was abysmal and turnout was fairly low as a result, but it looked like those who did brave the weather had a good time - we certainly did!

Balingup Medieval Carnivale 2013

What an exhausting weekend! 5 shows over 2 days, about 3 hours of music, lots of new material and some new drums... Our thanks once again go to Ally and the rest of the BMC committee for putting on such a great festival and inviting us to be a part of it!
This video of Ulv, Raev, Hare was filmed during the second show of the weekend, early Saturday afternoon.
